Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp vegetable/olive oil
  • 10 shitake mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1 kohlrabi (peeled and sliced)
  • 1 cup black fungus (soaked and diced)
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 cup green scallions (chopped in 1/2cm pieces)
  • 5 cups green chives (diced)
  • round dumpling wrappers
  • 1 small bowl of water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil (mix in with soya sauce)
  • 1 tbsp soya sauce (mix in with sesame oil)
  • 1-2 pinch salt and pepper
Instructions

    Add the kohlrabi, mushroom, and garlic in a food processor. Pulse until they are 1/2cm pieces.

    In a large bowl, combine processed ingredients w/ black fungus, scallions, chives.

    Whisk the egg in the mixture to bind ingredients together.
  • 4
    Add sesame oil + soya sauce mixture, pinch of salt, & pepper.

    Scoop a teaspoon of filling into center of dumpling wrapper. Moisten edge of wrapper with water. Bring the bottom edge of the wrapper to the top edge and pitch closed.

    Pinch the sides closed to create a half moon shaped dumpling. Place dumpling on tray lined with parchment paper.

    Add oil and place dumplings into a non-stick pan. Let bottom of the dumpling brown a bit on medium heat (3 minutes).

    Add 1/2 cup of water to pan and cover (3 minutes).

    Once all the water has evaporated, flip dumplings over on the back side to brown (5 minutes). Remove from heat and serve.
